Summer Series 2024

Performance Art Theater Ballet

What’s Happening?

Experience world premieres by choreographers Loughlan Prior, Stina Quagebeur, and Amy Hall Garner.

Loughlan Prior is the award-winning Choreographer in Residence at Royal New Zealand Ballet. Described by DANZ as “a creative tour de force,” his 2020 BalletX dance film, Scribble, was featured on PBS’s Great Performances. Prior’s new work explores the 1772 Macaroni Scandal, and features an original score by Claire Cowan.

Stina Quagebeur, whose work has been hailed as “original and memorable” by Dance Tabs, is an Associate Choreographer of English National Ballet whose work has been performed at Ailey, Sadler’s Wells, The Joyce Theater, and more. Her new work takes inspiration from Akira Kurosawa’s classic film, Rashomon.

Amy Hall Garner is BalletX’s Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation Choreographer-in-Residence. An internationally-renowned artist, her work has been commissioned by New York City Ballet, Alvin Ailey, Hubbard Street Dance, Miami City Ballet, and Paul Taylor Dance Company, to name a few. She returns to BalletX after her 2023 world premiere, Switching the Groove.
