Daryl Howard discusses her work and its connection to the history of Ukiyo-e Japanese woodblock prints. She will provide an in-depth exploration of the history of Japan’s most influential artform and share her own artistic journey, from growing up in San Antonio, Texas to her stint as a young art teacher in Tokyo Japan, followed by apprenticeship to Master Hodaka Yoshida. 

The conversation will be held in the NCHM Exhibit Room surrounded by Howard’s exhibition, The Floating World: Texas to Tokyo. The Museum will be open for regular opening hours, 11AM - 4PM. Arrive ahead of the Talk to see the exhibit.

Free parking is available behind the Museum accessible from 23rd Street.

More about Neill-Cochran House Museum
The Neill-Cochran House Museum is located in the heart of Austin, TX, just a few minutes walk from the UT-Austin campus. We steward the city's 10th oldest historic site (1856), including Austin's only intact slave quarters. We share our site, Austin, and Texas history from the city's birth in 1839 up to 1930 through historically furnished spaces as well as numerous rotating art and history exhibitions.
