Building Jerusalem - a play for our times by Michael Redhill

Theater Performance Art Plays

What’s Happening?

Politics! Religion! Sex! Nothing is off the table at this snowed-in cocktail party.

Don’t you think only the best should be advanced instead of being stymied by diversity? Shouldn’t Christian values be defended? Men are men and women are women; let’s put a stop to gender confusion. Or should the traditional wife concentrate on her role at home? And while we’re at it, what about raw milk… In the meantime, let’s party like it’s 1899.

It's New Year's Eve at the turn of a new century, and four esteemed guests have found themselves stuck at a party with an unusual agenda. Will the mysterious young woman organizing it succeed? Building Jerusalem is a shocking, contemporary drama about change and those who orchestrate it, presented in new form as an immersive and engaging evening by Catalyst Repertory.

About Catalyst Repertory:

Catalyst Repertory aims to provide the Indianapolis community with unpretentious, professional quality theatre. We focus on presenting big stories in small spaces with bold, visceral adaptations of the classics, the rarely done plays of prominent playwrights, and new works. Catalyst Repertory is dedicated to enriching our community with engaging ‘reach-out-and-touch-it’ theatre experiences, that act as the catalyst in opening important conversations for Indiana audiences.

This production is Directed by Tristan Ross and features:

Maria Meschi (Female Troubles; M; Ballad of the Bookwomen)
Alaine Sims (Hot, Cheap, and Ready; Martian Gothic; Amadeus)
Brant Hughes (Sh*t Cake; Rideshare to Elsewhere; Starmites)
Tristan Ross (Amadeus; M; Aria da Capo)
Anna Himes (A Streetcar Named Desire; Sensitive Guys; The Matt Kraft Comedy Hour)
