PRTX & Brilliant Trail Updates - BikePGH Winter Advocacy Gathering (virtual)

Community City Government Educational

What’s Happening?

Join us online for BikePGH's final Advocacy Network Gathering of 2026! All are welcome.

We cover two special topics:

1.) New Downtown <--> Oakland bike & pedestrian infrastructure, with Pittsburgh Regional Transit:

The new bike lanes and walking improvements along the PRTX bus rapid transit route between Downtown and Oakland are nearly finished, and some of the designs they used will be new to people. Amy Silbermann, Chief Development Officer at PRT will share how they're communicating about the new infrastructure and how to use it safely so you can spread that knowledge to your own community.

2.) The Brilliant Branch Trail, with Allegheny County and John Stephen:

Allegheny County is kicking off planning and design for the Brilliant Branch Trail that will connect the Northeast corner of the City across the river to Aspinwall and beyond. John Stephen with Rachel Carson Trail Conservancy and Ann Ogoreuc from Allegheny County Economic Development will give an overview of the project, explain how the County, City, and surrounding communities are working together on the trail and its connections, and share how you can get involved.

We'll wrap up with updates from BikePGH and the advocacy network
