What’s Happening?

Join us for the 6th Annual Epilepsy Awareness Day at Elitch Gardens, honoring our Everyday Heroes!  This is not a walk or run, just a fun day raising awareness and painting the park purple.  Registration is open.  Tickets are $32 per person and will include a tshirt for the event, however, we cannot guarantee exact sizes for tshirts for those registering after July 23, but should have plenty. WALK UP REGISTRATION IS NOT PERMITTED - YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY ELITCH GARDENS RATE OF $60+.  Also included is an Ice Cream Social from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm where we can gather at the Sunlight Patio Pavilion and get out of the sun and meet other amazing families in our community!  Ice cream and beverages will be served from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.  You must be registered through this site - even if you have seasons passes - to participate in the Ice Cream Social as this is where we will get our count.

We will have a table set up outside the main gate from 7:30 - 9:30 AM for you to pick up tickets, tshirts and tickets to the Meet and Greet. If you are not able to pick up during that time, you can pick up any ordered tickets through Elitch Garden's Will Call. Tshirts can be picked up at our booth just below the Ferris Wheel after 10:30 AM.

Also happening this day will be the 6th Annual Purple Duck Chase.  Those participating in the Purple Duck Chase and Epilepsy Awareness Day at Elitch Gardens 2022 will be granted early admission to the park at 9:00 through a private entrance to watch as sponsored ducks race in Elitch Garden's Lazy River.  No admission into the park without paid admission or valid season pass.

Prizes will be awarded to the holders of the First, Second and Third duck to cross the finish line.

More about Chelsea Hutchison Foundation
The Chelsea Hutchison Foundation grants comfort and hope to those affected by epilepsy through providing tangible monitoring resources, vital information, and a safe haven for conversation and community. Our main goal is to raise awareness of SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected, Unexplained and Unwitnessed Death in Epilepsy) and to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals and families living with epilepsy. We raise funds to provide education about SUDEP and to provide seizure response dog grants, (what we believe to be) lifesaving movement monitors that help to protect against SUDEP and grant wish trips to Epilepsy Awareness Day and Expo at Disneyland. We stay up-to-date on current trends in medical technology in order to be able to provide the most effective devices as they become available. We respect the value and quality of life of every person living with epilepsy. We are dedicated to providing opportunities that allow individuals and families greater independence, increased confidence, ability to enjoy social environments, and community understanding.
