First Friday Lunch and Learn

Discussion Continuing Education

What’s Happening?

Therapists, social workers, allied health professionals, and anyone who has an interest in mental health: join us for a new series at the Casa, First Friday Lunch and Learn! On the first Friday of every month from 11 am - noon, the Casa will host speakers with expertise in mental health topics such as:

- Managing Mental Health as We Come Out of COVID;

- Caregiver Stress and Burnout;

- Anxiety, Stress, and OCD;

- From "Wanting to be Happy" to Creating a Life of Meaning and Purpose;

- Understanding the Roots of Bullying and How to Prevent It;

- How to Get Along with Everyone (Even Yourself);

- and more!

After the talk, we will get together for the second hour for lunch to connect, network, and continue discussion of the topic for that month.

Join Ryan M. Sheade, LCSW, the Casa's Director of Therapy, Support, and Counseling, for a one-hour talk titled "Why Do We Do What We Do?" followed by lunch. In the talk Ryan will explain, from a therapist's perspective, why people do the things that they do - many of which may seem "crazy," or "ridiculous," or just plain old dumb from our perspective. You'll hear from Ryan's 20 years of experience as a therapist and will leave with the idea that maybe everyone makes sense once you know the whole story. If you want to increase your patience and understanding, especially with people with whom you don't currently get along, this hour will be the best use of your time this week... and who knows, maybe you'll learn a little bit about why you do the things YOU do while you're at it!

FEE:  $25 per person.  Pre-registration required.  One CEU is available each month.  Please call the Front Desk at 480.948.7460 to register for CEU and program.  Fee is $49.
