This Tobin Center Pachanga honors St. Patrick’s Day with something different, a “FolkPunkRock” festival exploring traditional music from new perspectives. Cross cultural influences combine to shape contemporary music in a San Antonio party like no other.
This Pachanga is rounded out by San Antonio dancers presenting samples of the interesting 6:8 rhythm found almost exclusively in Veracruz (Huapango), Ireland (the jig), and Western Africa (wawa-nko, or snake rhythm).
The Tobin’s Executive Chef, Armando Lopez, has prepared a fabulously twisted menu and, of course, the spirits will match the variety of cultural influence and experimentation.
