What’s Happening?

Join Touch of Grey Rescue and Sheriff Wayne Ivey at the South Animal Care Center for Finding Furever Homes, an event to kick off Adopt A Shelter Dog Month!  This is a family friendly event designed to bring more awareness to the shelter pets in our community.  Sheriff Ivey will be reading Farkle Finds His Furever Home, the first book in the Farkle and Friends book series based on real life dogs from Touch of Grey Rescue.  There will be book sales and signings afterwards, with proceeds going to Touch of Grey Rescue.

Before and after the reading, kids can partner with youth members from the former Canine Commandos to read the book to a hopeful shelter dog, or make a poster on behalf of the shelter pets.  There will also be a craft table, popcorn, and snow cones available, and all the dogs will be dressed to impress!  Perhaps you will meet your best friend in the form of a dog or cat and provide them with their furever home!  We will also have an "Adopt A Pup" station full of stuffed pups for the kids to adopt so nobody has to go home empty handed.  Hope to see you there!
