Online Introduction to Ayurveda Workshop with Komal Dadlani

Other Spiritual Hindu Yoga Self-care Other Health & Fitness Mental Health Meditation Workshop Other Arts and Culture

What’s Happening?

Our health is made by the energy of our astral body and the 5 elements that reside in it: ether, air, water, fire and earth. In these two workshops, you will awaken to your body’s self-healing abilities, as per the laws of Ayurveda, also known as “The Knowledge of Nature”. We will explore the principles that govern Nature itself, as well as its rhythms and influence in your physiology and state of being.

Though rooted in profound theoretical background, the purpose of these sessions is to empower you with practical understanding of how Ayurveda operates. This workshop will offer you tools to self-regulate on the basis of your symptoms and individual constitution, which you will be guided to discover during our discussion.

Our study will be divided into two days, with 4 different modules:

What is Ayurveda and where does it come from?

Ayurveda is knowledge in regards to Nature and our physiological-spiritual relationship with it. It was revealed to rishis and sages in a high state of consciousness known as samadhi. We will review its origins and main texts/teachers, to situate our study.

The 5 elements and their manifestation in the body

All 5 elements of nature have their place in our physical and astral body, influencing our appearance, psychological traits, character and physiological strengths. For example, air is a creative engine for the arts and speech; whereas fire provides glow and shine to our eyes and skin. Similarly, a person that has more fire than another, will enjoy the benefits of a better digestion, but a person with more earth, might not as much. During this module, we will distil each element, with its attributes and impact on all aspects of our constitution, as well as learn to locate them in our bodies.

Healing Mechanisms

We will revise the laws that regulate illness and favour healing, as well as dive deep into the Ayurvedic Clock and other tools to restore balance and self-regulate emotion and physical ailments. In Ayurveda, symptoms are viewed as a “form of healing”, rather than “disease”. We explore this notion and how to leverage physical imbalance to our favour, understanding what the body is trying to communicate to us.

Your Constitution & Lifestyle

The key to self-regulation and empowerment is to understand one’s own “Ayurvedic Constitution” or Prakruti, that is: “how much air, fire, earth exists in my own body?” We will “test” ourselves on various indicators to determine this and get started on our self-healing journey, as well as explore various lifestyle suggestions and enhancements for better sleep, mood, digestion, hormonal balance, concentration and improving our soft skills.

When: December 10th & 11th from 12pm - 2pm EST both days

Where: Online via Zoom

Cost: $30 per session $50 for both sessions
