Visitor:
Like planets orbiting a sun, the four members of Visitor have always gravitated to music. Throughout their individual histories they came together to form bands of various flavors, playing in venues throughout Detroit alongside groups like iconic alt-rock band Sponge. But it wasn’t until 2016 that the planets aligned and these music-loving friends came together to create a new entity: Visitor. The alt-rock foursome combines challenging layers of rock melodies, the grit of metal, and heartfelt, harmonic lyrics. It’s a distinct blend that results in accessible songs that simultaneously inspire and thrill, continuing the musical legacies established by influential bands like Tool, 311, and Nothing More. Visitor’s music embraces themes of soul searching, forging paths, doubt and loneliness, but they’re underpinned by hope and optimism. When you feel like a stranger in a strange land, Visitor’s music reminds you that you aren’t alone. But Visitor is more than a sonic experience. Complementing its music is original artwork that, much like Visitor’s songs, evokes a sense of exploration and wonder with negative space and dramatic contrasts. For Visitor, it’s all about open themes and open minds. With their debut album, “Origin Threshold,” set for release this spring, now is the perfect time to explore the world of music with Visitor.
