Aimed at connecting our diverse community through our shared appreciation of music, the Center for Musical Arts’ 2023-24 concert series celebrates musical excellence and an expansive mix of musical genres—all in our welcoming and intimate performance space.
Denver guitarist Dave Devine presents Ennio Morricone’s scores from the films A Fistful of Dollars; For a Few Dollars More; The Good, the Bad & the Ugly; and Once Upon a Time in the West. This group’s performances of the Golden Globe-winning composer’s unforgettable “spaghetti western” music have become an annual tradition coinciding with the National Western Stock Show every January in Denver since 2014.
Bringing Morricone’s complex scores to life with a small chamber ensemble is a challenge Devine embraces, having transcribed and arranged many of the pieces himself. This epic music is performed by a group of musicians who perceptive music fans may recognize from their work with acclaimed bands such as The Czars, Kneebody & DeVotchKa, among others.
