What’s Happening?

Friday, 9.17
6:30-8 pm
Leo Horrigan
In person at The Innerwork Center*

Thousands of men have been profoundly transformed by men’s work - it’s time for you to join them. The documentary film Out of Our Heads: A Male Journey into the Heart gives men a way to show (not just tell) other men about the power of their work. The film is a call to action for men who want to break out of their apathy, create more meaning in their lives, or simply connect more with other men – and be fed by an authentic, creative, supportive male community. We will watch the film together and discuss it afterwards with the filmmaker, Leo Horrigan. Resources for getting involved in men's work locally and online will be shared. See mensworkdoc.com for more information.

*We will monitor COVID restrictions as we get closer to the event to determine if we need to change to a virtual format. Participants will be notified prior to the program.

What You’ll Take Away:
Connection to other local like minded men
Renewed energy for your practice of self discovery
Tools to take with you on your journey to connect with the soul

This program is a free, donation-based offering and your donation, if possible is greatly appreciated.

About Leo
Leo Horrigan is producer and co-editor for Out of Our Heads, which he co-created with award-winning documentary filmmaker and cinematographer Allen Moore.

Leo started out in the newspaper industry, but in 1996 he shifted to the public health field, where he has focused on the sustainability of our food system. He began attending the Men’s Wisdom Council in 2001, and the men’s work he did there launched him into poetry writing and other creative endeavors. He has performed his poems at numerous venues in the Baltimore area, where he has lived for 27 years, and elsewhere. He has also written two short plays that were performed for the public.

Since 2010, Leo has also made three other documentary films about food system topics, covering pasture-based animal farming, food deserts, and regenerative farming. His latest film, Growing Solutions, has been selected for a dozen film festivals representing various regions of the U.S., plus India, Poland, and Turkey.
