Greenfield Parks & Recreation along with Hancock Tourism present Total Eclipse of the Parks!

April 8, 2024

Greenfield IN is in the Path of Totality for the total eclipse on April 8, 2024. Greenfield Parks and Recreation would like you to celebrate with us in one of our parks! The main hub of activity will be at Depot Street Park, 251 Depot Street, from 12:00 pm to 6 pm. There will be food trucks, a DJ, activities, a panel of planetary science experts, and more! We will have FREE Eclipse glasses for the first 3,000 attendees.

Three of our other larger parks are also great places to see the eclipse.

Beckenholdt Park is located at 2770 N. Franklin Road and will feature the Brandywine Wind performing in the band shelter there. Parks staff will be on hand with FREE Eclipse glasses for the first 2,000 attendees.

Brandywine Park is located at 900 East Davis Road, and our local soccer club and fast pitch softball will be selling concessions and giving away FREE Eclipse glasses to the first 2,000 attendees.

Riley Park is located at 300 Apple Street; we will have Parks staff on had to give out FREE Eclipse glasses to the first 2,000 attendees.

* The path of totality is the narrow region on Earth where the Moon completely covers the Sun during a total solar eclipse. The path of totality varies for each eclipse depending on the relative positions of the Earth, Moon, and Sun. The path of totality can be around 15,000 km long, but only about 150 km wide. Observers within the path of totality will experience a brief period of darkness and see the Sun’s corona. *
