What’s Happening?

Mark Andrew // Body of Work
Opening Reception
First Friday June 7th
7:00 - 10:00PM
Petshop Gallery (2725 N. 62nd St.)

Mark Andrew's exhibition, "Body of Work," explores the essence of artistic creation and challenges traditional definitions of an artist's portfolio. Through this showcase, Andrew invites viewers to contemplate what defines an artist's body of work beyond mere accumulation. The exhibition is divided into two galleries. The entrance gallery features Andrew's signature styles, characterized by vibrant mixed media art with bold colors and whimsical iconography. This space also displays prints on T-shirts and collectible memorabilia inspired by tourist souvenirs.

In contrast, the second gallery presents work inspired by introspection and experimentation, reflecting themes of second-guessing and new directions. Influences from Midwest landscapes, ancient civilizations, and modern technology converge in this collection, encouraging viewers to reconsider the dynamic nature of creative expression. "Body of Work" challenges viewers to rethink artistic identity and evolution, prompting a reimagination of the boundaries of artistic practice.
